Head of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, the 86 year-old Egyptian-Qatari Sheikh Youssif al-Qaradawi, intends to spend a period of convalescence in Marrakech, with his Moroccan wife who had traveled to the Qatari capital, Doha, a few days before the death of his first wife.
According to informed sources, al-Qaradawi met Aisha Lemfnin, 37 his junior, when he was preaching in Tunisia.  Aisha was later informed by an acquaintance that the Sheikh wanted to marry her. She accepted the proposal and married him a few weeks ago in the Qatari capital.
Sheikh Qaradawi’s 49 year-old new wife, hails from  Benjrir, a suburb of the Moroccan capital Marrakech. She worked as a government employee in Rabat, before she met the Sheikh through ​​ acquaintances in Rabat. They were married in Qatar through a proxy signed by the new wife.
